In 2011, our club decided to commit our time and resources to support Montclaire Elementary, a Title 1 school in CMS. Over ten years later, we have developed deep relationships with a variety of non-profits to leverage our size and budget to serve the school.
Near the end of each school year, on or around National Teacher Appreciation Day in May, our club provides lunches to all of Montclaire's teachers and staff. Our lunch order is always with The Community Culinary School, a unique workforce training program, whose self-described mission is "to get people off the dole and onto the payroll." And they make delicious lunches.
Each summer, Montclaire hosts 100 or so children for a six-week reading immersion workshop. Harambee! At the end of the workshop, our club rewards each scholar with a backpack full of school supplies. Visit Freedom School for more info.
For seven years, Heart Math Tutoring has organized one-on-one tutoring for 50 students at Montclaire. During the 2023-2024 school year, members of our club tutor students once a week.
For the 2023-2024 school year, we are proud to sponsor a five-week STEAM Saturday program at Montclaire! Digi-Bridge will host 25 students.
Let Me Run is an organization that seeks to train and engage boys in 4th and 5th grades, teaching them the virtues of fitness, integrity and kindness. We are proud to sponsor a team at Montclaire.
Esther's Heart Ministries maintains food pantries and delivers weekly meal bags to children of economically stressed families within the CMS school system. We support Esther's efforts at Montclaire.
Our club works closely with the on-site coordinator for Communities in Schools at Montclaire. We help to assist in a variety of special requests, usually filling funding gaps for field trips or in-school concerts.
